Othilie's page
introduction
Hello! Welcome to my very first page! My name is Othilie. I am a student in informatics! My main subject is cyber security. I'm currently taking a masters in the field of Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC) while doing some other practical things on the side! Let's just say it's a scary world out there The field of cyber security is great for anyone with an interest in IT and a slight paranoia.
Anyways, onto another topic! On my free time I enjoy making Capture-The-Flag competitions, arrange speaker events about cyber security, and try to learn different sides of front-end and back-end. I really enjoy participating in the security community, learning more and challenging my views.

When I'm not using my time on bits and bytes flying through cables and the air to give us some images and text on a screen, and the security of it all, you will find me exploring. Whether it's a new skill, like a hobby or a place. I'm absolutely addicted to broaden my horizons.
I'm happy you're taking time to check out this page!
Feel free to reach out on my socials if there are any questions!
What are you writing a thesis about?
I sadly am not allowed to say just yet what specifically I am writing about other than it being about PQC. BUUUUT different countries have started their quantum-migration. I'd really reccommend to check that out - especially if you're working somewhere handling big amounts of data
What is Capture-The-Flag?
Capture-The-Flag is a sort of competition within hacking. You solve a multitude of different task using your knowledge about cybersecurity OR you might use a lot of references like search engines, books, etc Some people rather call the competitions CTFs!
Where do you make CTFs?
I make CTFs with my student organization HeltSikker! We make CTFs for all sorts of levels! Sometimes we also work together with companies and the national team in hacking. You can check out our group here!
Do you have any recommendations for a beginner in CTFs?
Yes i do!! My organization have made a whole collection under the tab CTF. Other than that i can really reccomend TryHackMe! On the site you can choose different modules about all fields within Cyber Security. They release different rooms weekly. Some rooms have a paywall, so the best is probably to check out the free rooms first!
You do speaker events and presentations?
I tryy to find time to do them! If the event fit the schedule between work and studies, I accept doing speaker events. The next one will be at OtoCon

2. I am currently maintaining the webpage for HeltSikker! The web page is hosted on GitPages
3. I didn't go from gaming to cyber security, but actually the opposite way! Interesting how we all have different ways about gaming and IT in the field
4. My favourite games are "Hollow Knight" and "Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon". I am still a newbie, but those are some of my favs so far!
5. My favorite animals are Panda and Axolotl
6. The best downtime I know is either by coding for fun or by creating physical mediums. Especially crochet and embroidery
7. FUNFACT! The very first woman in IT or mother of computing Ada Lovelace was a practitioner of fiber arts. Knitting and other fabric arts are a binary system. Even during the WW2 knitting was used to deliver morse codes.
